A Year of stories and connection

AOB’s 2025-26 Impact report

Students meeting authors and illustrators. Books finding their way into classrooms and homes. Young people discovering new stories and finding confidence in their own. An Open Book Foundation’s 2025–26 Annual Impact Report celebrates a year of these connections and the community that made them possible.

During the 25-26 school year, AOB:

  • Served 9,331 students

  • Distributed 10,736 books

  • Partnered with 88 authors and illustrators

The report brings those numbers to life through student and educator reflections, creative residencies, and partnerships that connect books with experiences beyond the classroom.

Behind this work are educators, authors, illustrators, volunteers, publishers, booksellers, partners, and supporters who help make reading a shared experience. We’re grateful for their care, creativity, and commitment.

Today, this work continues through An Open Book Foundation, powered by Live It Learn It. As we look ahead, we’re celebrating the relationships and experiences that brought us here.
