SARAH BOONE

Sarah Boone is an experienced educator and a lifelong learner. Growing up in Maryland, Sarah was close enough to DC to enjoy frequent visits to Smithsonian museums and was spoiled by the quantity and quality of free cultural institutions. She studied Child Development and Peace & Justice Studies at Tufts University, then started her teaching career in Boston Public Schools, earning a Masters in Education while teaching 4th and 5th graders. After moving to Washington DC, she continued teaching elementary school in DCPS with a focus on literacy and inclusion.

Sarah is excited to continue facilitating memorable learning experiences for students in DC through LILI. She lives in Takoma Park with her husband, 2 year old son, and dog. When she is not at playgrounds or playing with blocks, she spends her time reading, writing, running, and watching baseball.
