May Fundraising Event 2019

An Experiential Evening of Art & Education

On Thursday, May 2, Live It Learn It hosted an exhilarating evening of music and art. Ticket purchases supported experiential, hands-on learning for students and teachers from Title I DC Public Schools. The event featured hands-on activities designed by Live It Learn It, live jazz from the Washington Jazz Arts Institute under the direction of Davey Yarborough, a drum circle lead by percussionist Susan Berning, and the Kreeger Museum’s exquisite art collection.

During the event, we honored Live It Learn It Board Member, Bitsey Folger.

“I am just a person who loves kids and wants each one to have opportunities in life to grow happily and with love!!” – Bitsey Folger

A former teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools, Nancy “Bitsey” Folger serves on the boards of several non-profits, including White House Historical Association, The National Symphony Orchestra, and the Black Student Fund.
