Nigel Atwell (he/him) is an education lawyer who represents children with cognitive, learning, and developmental disabilities who attend public schools in Washington, DC. He also represents public school students who are victims of harassment, abuse, and discrimination on the basis of race, national origin, sex, gender identity or disability. Nigel has taught primary school in DC, where he was a lead social studies teacher, and served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University's Graduate School of Education and Human Development, where he taught social studies methods. Nigel's first Live It Learn It experience actually occurred when he was a second-year DCPS teacher, long before he became a board member! He is a native Washingtonian, a graduate of Howard University, and lives in DC.
